Gajjar halwa is not only one of my husband's favourite dish but also all our friends....so here is the receipe...
Carrots grated - 6 cups
Sugar - 2 1/2 cups
Milk- 4 cups
Ghee - According to your taste
Dry fruits - Cashews, raisins, almonds - As per the choice
Khoya - optional
For this receipe it would be preferred if you use the organic carrots.
Mix the grated carrots and milk and put it for boil
Let the carrots cook nicely and when the milk is almost dried up and add the sugar
The sugar will start leaving water.. now let the mixture dry.. the colour of the carrots would also change..
Add the ghee little by little
Now you can add grated khoya and dry fruits..
You can fry the dry fruits in ghee if you prefer and add to the carrots
Delicious Halwa is ready....
